– count out loud
– bar 4 – make sure to keep the quarter note rhythm the same
– bar 7 – 8 watch for the note switch to D and C
– remember to play legato for line 3 (under the slur)
– try to memorize for next lesson

Jazz Jig – page 44
– watch the slurs – remember to play legato
– try practicing with the metronome – aim for 184 but start at a slower speed and build up
– drill bars 7 – 8
– try to memorize for next lesson

Hoedown – page 51
– D.C al Fine = start from the beginning and play until the “Fine”
– watch out for the jumps of 4ths (eg. from D to G)

Chord Progression
C-F-C-G-C-d-G-C
– play a single note in your Left Hand and the triad in your Right Hand
– work on the rhythm – Left-Right-Left Right on beat 1-2-3-4
-practice playing at least twice through

C-major scale
– try to keep your fingers curved as you play
> keep your 5th fingers curved
> don’t collapse your fingertips
– only play the top note once when changing direction
– don’t pause when changing direction
– practice Hands Separately for 2 octaves
