December 8 Lesson Notes

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
> no lessons till the new year, lessons resume January 12

Start learning Carol of the Bells (sheet)
– watch the treble clef for your Left Hand
– start practicing slowly, make sure there is no pause between bars for your Right Hand

Jingle Bells
– nice work on the chorus
– work on playing the verse with a steady rhythm
– awesome addition to bar 20!
> play C-D-E-F after singing “way”
– bar 3 – try adding a C-chord shot on “horse”
– try adding a glissando in the transition from the verse to chorus

Frosty
– double check the pitch for the vocal notes
– work on playing and singing with a steady rhythm

Song
– watch out for the letters E, A and B if you use them – they’ll usually be flats
– for the new section, look for Left Hand chords to play
> eg. for the Right Hand’s Eb-G-Eb-G-Eb-G-Ab, in the Left Hand play and hold Eb, and play F when your Right Hand plays Ab

Pick some new songs out of your book to practice
