Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree
– nice improvement!
– drill 2 bars at a time
> bars 5 – 8 worked on in lesson and sped up
– drill bar 8 to the first beat of bar 9
– drill bar 9
– when drilling, aim for at least 5 clean run throughs

When a Child is Born
– focus on the first section
– work on playing the Right Hand steadily
– for the Left Hand, try:
> playing triads
> or playing single notes
> or playing single notes with your 5th finger in preparation for a broken pattern
– on the half notes, try playing a broken pattern in your Left Hand
> for example, on F play F-C-F
> be careful, don’t stretch your hand too much and just pivot around the notes
– Am to Dm has a funky type of bass line you can try
> A-E-G-E–CC#D
