Triads
– solid/blocked
> make sure the notes sound/play exactly together
> play on your 5th fingertips
> keep your wrist straight (don’t let them drop)
> keep a bend to your first knuckle
– broken
> try to play with a steady rhythm with no pause between inversions
Just As I Am
– nice work!
– work on no pause between bar 4 and 5
> drill bars 4 – 6, ten times cleanly
– drill bar 11
– work on bars 13 – 14
> drill bar 14 by itself first, aim for 10 clean play throughs per practice
– try to play your Left Hand softer
– add more dynamics (louds and softs)
– focus on keeping a steady rhythm throughout
Minuet in F Major
– nice improvement!
– bar 4 – make sure to play “F” with your Left Hand thumb
– drill bar 7 plus the first beat of bar 8
> make sure there is no pause right after the triplet
> check your Left Hand fingering
– isolate any bars that are tricky to play (pauses, slows down, glitchy notes, etc.) and drill them separately
