April 29 Lesson Notes

Reminder – May 6 lesson can be at 5:15pm if you’d like, but back to 6:15pm for May 13

Scales
– for G+ – use correct fingering, check where your LH thumb plays in the last octave
– play at a speed where you can monitor your fingering and hands visually
– add Gb/F#+ (white keys are F and B) and Db/C#+ (white keys are F and C)

Overworld Theme
– awesome work!
– practice at a slower speed
> play each line 5-10 times
> once you are able to play through cleanly, start to increase the speed again
Page 1
– bar 11 and 19 – make sure to plant on the “C-A-E” cleanly
Page 2
–  work on the transition between line 3 and 4
> make sure there is no pause
> work on playing the last line notes cleanly
Page 3
– bar 3 and 4
> work on fingering for your RH
– bar 3 and 7
> make sure to play “C” in your LH
– work on the  transition between line 3 and 4
Page 4
– check fingering
– continue Hands Separate practice

Continue to practice:
Triads
– practice solid 2/3 times
– broken
> apply the “beep/line” test concept
> start in Root Position, play up to first inversion then back down, then up to second inversion then back down, etc.
