March 30, 2022Reminder: No lesson April 13 and 20 for the break.
Next lesson on April 27
Work on completing all technique, memorizing all songs as well as working on ear training and sight reading.
Arpeggios
– work on key recognition (being able to start the technique right away after being called out)
– review weaker keys (eg. b-)
Time how long it takes to play through all of your technique (scales, chords, arpeggios)
Sonatina in F Major
– page 2 – play LH broken triads softer than your RH
– bar 32 – hold the fermata’s for a bit longer
– count a bar from beat 1 before starting
– work on shaping the melody
> try RH by itself first to work out how you would like it to sound
> find “high” points in the melody and work out the shaping around them
> High points can be set up with a crescendo or diminuendo
> try using soft sections to precede loud points
> try using loud sections to precede soft points
> mark dynamics that you’ve worked out in the music
> make a note for any sections you’re not sure about and they can be looked at in lesson
