Book
– practice the songs from page 12
– watch for slurs – try to play legato between notes under/over slurs
– check notes – make sure your fingers are playing the correct keys
– repeat each line until they are easy to play
– count out loud
> to increase the difficulty, you can try to increase the speed or tap your foot to the beat

C-major scale
– nice work!
– try to keep your hand and wrist relaxed as you play
– try to keep a “cup” shape in your palm (not flat)
– watch that your elbows don’t “flip” out
– practice Hands Separately for 2 octaves
> Right Hand fingering
1-2-3-1-2-3-4-1-2-3-1-2-3-4-5
> Left Hand fingering
5-4-3-2-1-3-2-1-4-3-2-1-3-2-1
– practice Hands Together for 1 octave
> play in the same direction (hands move parallel to each other)
