May 18, 2023Scales – C-major, a-minor
– excellent improvement on hand position and keeping your elbows in!
– work on keeping a steady rhythm as you play
– check your descending fingering for your Right Hand – use your 4th finger when crossing over your thumb
– when playing to your 5th fingers, try to keep your other fingers curved – control them so they don’t straighten out
– work on a-minor fingering and note confidence
C-major Triad
– nice work!
– broken form – play with a lighter thumb and more relaxed wrist – aim for a gentle sound on the piano
– play on your fingertips for your 5th fingers
Major-Minor triad exercise
– play up a scale in triads – root position
– try going from major to minor and back
example:
C-major to c-minor and back to C-major
– add other chords (eg. sus4) if you’d like
Chord progression
– nice work!
– remember to keep your fingers curved as you play
– try to maintain a steady rhythm
– try adding sus2/4 chords
– try adding transition notes in between the chords
examples:
– from G chord to C chord, walk down with these notes – FA-EG-DF to CE
– play F# when transitioning from F chord to G chord
